About Porthlysgi Beach

This secluded beach is only accessible from the Coastal Path about 1 mile west of Porthclais.

The rocky cove, at high tide, is shingle but at low tide golden sand is revealed with plenty of rock pools for exploring and the clear blue waters perfect for bathing.

Legend has it that the cove was named after an Irish raider who landed in the cove, went ashore, and killed the local Celtic chieftain.

If you’re planning to visit, check out the tide times to make sure you’ve plenty of beach to play on and that you don’t get cut off by the incoming tide!
