Kilgetty and Begelly are villages between Narberth and Saundersfoot. Begelly is a linear village stretching along the main A478 and home to the well known Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo.
Kilgetty grew up around the railway with a station opening in 1866.
Kilgetty is served by the local bus service 352 which takes you into Tenby and service 381 into Haverfordwest. Kilgetty also has a railway station.
Begelly and Kilgetty have a long mining history and in 1581 there were so many workings in Begelly near the highway from Tenby to Haverfordwest, that no one dared to pass over it in a carriage or cart because of the danger of subsidence!
In 1834 the railway was opened to take the coal from the Begelly pits down to Saundersfoot.
